There are several factors that determine the total cost for an adoption. For example, if a teenager is living at home with her parents, and has medical insurance, the costs will be low.
On the other hand, if a birth mother does not have insurance or Medicaid and requires assistance with her living expenses, the adoption will be more expensive.
It is the practice of Shorstein & Kelly to discuss the total estimated cost of the adoption with the prospective adoptive parents before a commitment is made between them and the birth parent(s).
Costs associated with adoption include:
